CFEC, in partnership with the SCDE, and school districts in high poverty and/or rural areas of South Carolina are in the process of establishing Community Family Resource Centers. These Centers will be stocked with high quality information and resources for families to support their children’s learning and development in locations where families already travel to access essential goods and services.  

Our goals are to:  

• Build the capacities of families to support their children’s learning and development in partnership with schools and community.  
• Extend the reach of services and resources already available to families through state, regional, and local agencies, and non-profits.  
• Increase the number of families in low income and/or rural areas who can readily access information and resources available to support their children’s learning and development without need for the Internet.  

The locations of the Centers will align with the regions being served by CFEC regional family engagement liaisons.
