Self-Paced Family Engagement Book Study

Are you looking to deepen your knowledge of how to engage families to support student learning and development -- especially as the COVID-19 pandemic continues to pose unprecedented challenges for both teachers and students? 

Earn renewal credits by completing a book study on Powerful Partnerships: A Teacher’s Guide to Engaging Families for Student Success (K. Mapp, I Carver, and J. Lander 2017) using the Family Engagement Action Guide, a study guide developed by Scholastic. The study guide consists of eight sets of reflection questions and discussion tips that align with the content of the Powerful Partnerships text.   

Teachers are invited to pair up or form groups to work together through the study guide over the course of the year. Each participating teacher will be expected to purchase his/her own copy of the Powerful Partnerships book and the Scholastic Family Engagement Action Guide, which are available from several different online vendors at a combined cost of approximately $40. There is no other cost to participate in this initiative.
